Ponderings

So anyway, I was watching "Deliverance" on CBC the other night and some questions came to mind:

What exactly were the mountain-men rapists doing in the woods before they encountered Jon Voight and Ned Beatty? Did they really have a whiskey still? Picking flowers for their girlfriends/sisters? One had a gun, so I think the obvious answer is that they were looking for some sort of animal to shoot. And then sodimize.

This was Ned Beatty's first film. Did he consider being molested by rural folk his big break?

Did Richard Donner cast Beatty in "Superman" because of his previous work, or because he would be recognized as "that squeal-like-a-pig boy"?

Since remakes of seventies films seems to be the only way Hollywood can make movies these days, why hasn't "Deliverance" been remade yet? Possibly starring Jorge Garcia in the Beatty role.

The preceding post has nothing to do with anything. Carry on.

I think the only proper way to remake Deliverance would be with Johnny Knoxville and Ashton Kutcher. They'd flawlessly recontextualize the tale in a 21st century mindset. Oh! And directed by McG.

Yeah, that'd be classy!
